Summary
In Chapter 80, Dirk, who Maguire refers to as Drosselmeier in Dirk’s old age, became close friends with Ethelinda and spent every summer with her and her sons at Meritor. Dirk felt that he confused Günter and Sebastian Stahlbaum with Franz and Moritz Pfeiffer. Ethelinda died about 20 years after Felix. Sebastian married a French woman named Clothilde and they had two children, Fritz and Klara. Drosselmeier became their godfather. In Chapter 81, Drosselmeier decided to travel to Greece, but ended up cancelling his trip when he fell and broke several bones. In Chapter 82, he carved toys for Fritz and Klara, including a doll called Mother Ginger, which Klara loved, in Chapter 83. Fritz took control of the games he played with his sister.
