Summary

Chapter 25: As they grew older, the Galvin sisters developed a very strong bond. In 1982, Joe had his psychotic break. He lost everything and returned to live at home after being hospitalized and drugged into catatonia. Lindsay visited Joe in the hospital; this was the first time she'd seen one of her sick brothers there and she began to think about what kinds of treatment options were available to them. Margaret had begun college in 1980 and was building a life for herself that revolved in many ways around not going home. She met a young man named Chris from a wealthy family and they quickly became engaged. As the schizophrenic brothers continued to be intermittently hospitalized and arrested amid outbursts.
