Summary

The title pages for Chapter 5 include hand-drawn comics from Jarrett. It also includes an advertisement for a 16 week course on comic art drawing. The chapter begins with Jarrett on his bed drawing. Jarrett is older now, taller, and wears glasses. Joe knocks on his door and tells him that they are sending him to take classes at Worcester Art Museum. On the next page Jarrett walks towards the comic book class and meets his teacher Mark. The teacher shows him different kinds of comics Jarrett had not seen before. He also lets them use special tools and ink so they can practice drawing like “real cartoonists” (147).
