Summary

Chapter 1 is in Ben’s perspective and takes place on Saturday, May 16th. Ben is thinking about his ex, Arthur, and his current relationship, Mario, nicknamed Super Mario. Ben gets on the subway and tells the audience that he and Mario are not officially together. Ben gets off the train and meets up with his best friend, Dylan, and his girlfriend, Samantha, at Central Park. The three go to Belvedere castle, and they run into a woman Ben recognizes. When Ben and Arthur met, they got separated by a flash mob which was a proposal to the post office clerk who was in the middle of helping Ben. Ben checks Arthur’s Instagram and sees that he is coming to New York. Mario arrives and greets Dylan like an old friend, then greets Samantha too. Ben is writing a book about wizards...
