In Chapter 31, Thandi sits on Asafa’s boat. She is surprised when she hears Charles’ voice. He tells her he is staying with Jullette and had just come to say goodbye to his old life. He has plans to move to Kingston. Jullette and Miss Violet will move to St. Elizabeth. Charles promises to call for Thandi to join him when he can.
