Summary
In Chapter 42, Chelsea’s abductor peeped through the window in her kitchen and saw the house was dark. He assumed the family was sleeping. They did not have an alarm system so it was easy to break in through the sliding glass door. Upstairs, the man found Chelsea leaning over the baby’s crib. He walked slowly toward her, hoping to take her by surprise. When a floorboard squeaked and she looked at him, he was shocked.
In Chapter 43, Lance had not liked Morgan’s plan but he had to admit that it had worked perfectly. He remembered how scared Chelsea had been when he knocked on the door. It had not been hard to convince them to go to a hotel and let Lance and Morgan set up surveillance there.
