The Narrative's Title, "Hello, Universe"

The narrative's title symbolizes the notion that destiny works in people's lives to help them have unlimited opportunities if they are willing to believe in its power and let it into their lives.

The Name Turtle

Virgil’s parents call him Turtle instead of his given name. The name symbolizes the fact that he is painfully shy and stays in his shell. Once he tells his mother to stop calling him Turtle, his mother looks at him as if she has seen him for the first time because he has figuratively come out of his shell. It is the first time that she has seen him as an individual.
