Summary
In Chapter 46, Nick had decided to try to verify his uncle’s notes. He got information from a family research office and learned his ancestors were indeed from Ireland. He discovered his ancestors had been tailors and shopkeepers until his two cousins had started the station in Australia. Nick was disheartened as he had thought he’d feel some connection with Ireland but the place he found only make him homesick for Australia. As he tried to enjoy music in a pub, Nick realized he wasn’t happy in Ireland because Angela wasn’t there.
