Summary
In Chapter 21, Christmas Day was hot. The Gillespies went through their traditions of going to Christmas mass and then opening gifts on the veranda. After gifts were opened the children began cooking. Lunch was a success. Later in the day the whole family played games. Genevieve mentioned that they were actually acting like a family. On Boxing Day, the kids decided to present their play in the morning instead of the afternoon because it was already so hot. Ig said his stomach was hurting but Genevieve told him it was only stage fright. She noticed Victoria was holding her stomach as well. Genevieve also began to notice she was having cramps.
