Ben sits in the great hall, stunned that he cannot find the source of the power. He listens to the first sitting with Florence again, hoping for a clue but nothing. He walks the house letting his defenses down something shoves him towards the corridor, but he senses no malice. He realizes that it is Florence and the altar springs into his mind. The bible is open to the page announcing the birth of Daniel Belasco. Wallpaper behind him rips off the wall. Then he is assaulted by the wicked power he expected all along. He knows the answer now because he is about to die. He gets up and with no will, drifts out the front door to the bog.
