Part Six: December 24, 1970: Chapters 58 - 63 Summary
In the great hall, the Reversor is ready. Ben takes Florence's body out of the house. Lionel turns on the machine and Edith can feel it. He tells her it's time to leave, they go to the car. When Lionel opens the door, Edith sees Ben holding Florence's body and is so disturbed that she would rather go back into the house, but Lionel explains that the radiation will kill them. Lionel tells them Deutsch is dead, but neither seems to care. Hell House is dying.
Forty five minutes later Lionel announces it's done, and asks Ben to accompany him to the house to verify it is clean. Ben is unconvinced. When they go back in the door, Lionel looks expectantly at Ben, and after a moment he is amazed to realize that the atmosphere...
