Part Six: December 24, 1970: Chapters 52 - 57 Summary

Ben sits at Florence's side the rest of the night. He gets himself a glass of water and when he returns, her eyes are open but glazed, and tries to talk to her, but her personality has split. One part of her invites him to get into bed, blunt and forward, and the other is the Florence he knows who sobs at the hopelessness of having this sexual predator locked inside with her. Ben promises he'll help her, and tells her he is taking her out of Hell House, asking her to get dressed, but even that task is interfered with as she continues to solicit him in an altered state. He wonders if the house will let them leave.
