Part Five: December 23, 1970: Chapters 42 - 47 Summary
Music is playing and Florence is dancing with Daniel, but she can't remember how she got there. She sees Daniel standing in front of her in this mist. Water swirls around her feet and ankles. Smelling the rot, she thrashes and manages to get out of the tarn. Sick with fear she runs to the house and sees Ben leaving the kitchen with a glass of whiskey in his hand. She drinks it down she tells him that it is all Emeric. All of the hauntings are his doing. She swears she'll stay until she manages to fix it. She goes back to her room and washes the stink of the tarn off her legs. Then she sits in prayer and tries to convince Daniel that if he can interrupt his father from killing her...
