Chapter 19 Summary

it's Friday, the day Emily catches her bus back home. Before leaving, Lucy and Emily visit Leah's grave. Emily notices the eight-point star on the gravestone that she saw as a tattoo on Officer Wilden's arm. Leah went missing the day before Ali. Emily confirms Leah's boyfriend's name is Darren Wilden.

Chapter 19 Analysis

Emily realizes that Wilden is from the Amish community she is visiting right now. He left for Rosewood during his rumspringa and didn't return. It is Wilden that Leah went to be with when she went missing. Emily finally realizes why A sent her to this community. It is because Darren Wilden has a connection with the community. It implies that Leah went missing because of Wilden and that Ali went missing because of Wilden too, just as A has been trying to tell the girls all along.
