Chapter 7 Summary

Spencer is happy the day is over. She's at her locker when her ex-boyfriend, Andrew, comes up to her and they start to talk again. When Spencer is walking toward the parking lot, reporters surround her. She admits they didn't see Ali on Saturday night, that it was just a hallucination from the smoke inhalation. Spencer sees her sister, Melissa, parked in her SUV waving at her. Melissa packed up and left last week about the same time Ian started IMing Spencer. Spencer thinks Melissa left town because she knows more about Ali's death than she's telling.

As Melissa starts to drive them home, Spencer thinks about how she saw someone in the woods last week that looked like Melissa. She wonders if Melissa was looking for Ian's class ring.
