Summary
Chapter 35: Catherine drops the sword and falls to the floor. No one moves because they are all waiting for someone else to make a decision. Jest goes to Catherine and lifts the hem of her skirt to see that her ankle is broken. The King finally comes forward and tells her how brave she is and again announces her as the future queen. Catherine tells the King he is useless. Mary Ann makes the excuse that the pain in her ankle is causing her to say things she does not mean. The King offers to call a carriage to take her to the Sturgeons, but Jest says he will take Catherine and it will be faster. He lifts her and a tower of stones rises up around them.
When they stop, they are in a meadow with an ancient well in the center...
