Jude’s Farmhouse: Piecliff, New York
Roughly the first third of the novel (as well as the last several chapters) takes place in Jude’s large farmhouse, which is located in Piecliff, New York – a small town 40 minutes outside of Poughkeepsie and a two hour drive from New York City. The property is secluded and includes the main house and a large, heated barn that Bon and Angus’ indoor/outdoor kennel is attached to, and which also serves as the garage. Several years prior to the start of the story, Jude had a large addition put on the already rambling house and Jude’s personal assistant Danny Wooten’s office is located in this addition.
