Summary
Heart-Shaped Box is a 2007 horror novel by Joe Hill. Soon after aging heavy metal rock legend Judas Coyne buys a ghost on the Internet he learns that what he has bought is actually the spirit of an ex-girlfriend’s stepfather named Craddock McDermott who has sworn to kill him. In a very short period of time Craddock is able to make Jude’s personal assistant commit suicide and almost make Jude kill his girlfriend Georgia and then himself. Realizing that Craddock has the power to take control of the minds of the living using just his voice, Jude and Georgia head south from Jude’s home in New York to confront the woman who sold him the ghost and get her to make him stop chasing them.
