Part 6, Second Half (Carl, Saul, Virginia, Carl) Summary

Carl watches the battle on Halley's surface as he slowly drifts back towards the comet. Virginia used up her fuel reserve to save him, and they've been separated for some time. He sees newcomers enter the battlefield from fresh tunnels. The new fighters quickly attack the Ubers' weapons. Carl gets closer and realizes the newcomers are led by Ould-Harrad and Ingersoll. He gets a communication from Jeffers, who gives Carl control of a mech. He sends the mech after Virginia immediately, and it manages to retrieve her after several hours. Several spacers dressed in black also helped with the battle, and no one has any idea who they are. The men in black take Virginia back down to the tunnels, and Carl follows them. One of them takes his mask off...
