Part 5, First Half (Saul, Carl, Virginia, Saul) Summary

Saul heads down a corridor with two genetically modified gibbons, Max and Sylvie. It has been two years since he cured JonVon, and they are getting ready to recieve the care package sent to them from Earth. He meets up with Keoki Anuenue. Saul has developed and used cloning machines to create many species useful to the crew, who now consider themselves colonists. Lani is also there, completely cured of her illness. The factions on the comet are still in place, however. Ould-Harrad appears with otters that Saul created and tells the doctor that he is leaving the Quiverian and the other Orthos to travel deep within the comet and preach to the weirders like Ingersoll who live inside. He warns Saul that Quiverian has become dangerous.
