Part 1, Second Half (Saul, Virginia, Carl, Saul) Summary
Saul reads of a decision on Earth to forbid Percells from entering the Olympic Games with disappointment. The memo was given to him by Joao Quiverian, who wants Saul's opinion on the vote. Nicholas Malenkov appears and joins their discussion, which transforms into one about the possibility of herding the comet. An argument breaks out between Joao and Nicholas, and Saul throws the other workers out after they accidentally break open a test-tube. Quiverian leaves in frustration. Lieutenant Colonel Sulemain comes in to investigate the problem. He is from Africa, and he and Saul argue about their religions for a short time.
Virginia goes to see Saul in the lab. Saul is concerned because he believes he has found living contaminantes in the samples he's taken from the comet. He offers...
