Summary
Pregnancy does not stabilize Terese and Casey's relationship. She writes that her baby is "a Thunder Being inside of me" (71). For the baby's sake, she has to go off her medication, but she and Casey want the child, and they prepare for things to get difficult. Terese and Isaiah move in with Casey. After only four weeks, Terese begins to experience symptoms from going off her medication. Her experience in the hospital taught her how to "manage [her] symptoms in the external world" and she functions well in her graduate program (72). However, she does not know how to function in her home life. She is not sure she can "control [her] behaviors" and cannot "distinguish the symptoms from [her] heart" (73).
