Summary

In “Izzy Lang vs. Iggy Lang,” cousins Izzy Lang and Iggy Lang face off in the next match. Iggy is 15 years old and Izzy is 17 years old. Iggy started boxing because she admired Izzy. She liked the way Izzy’s mouth guard looked and hoped it would cover her crooked teeth. Everyone comments on her purple lip, but Iggy’s teeth bother her more. The girls live in Douglas, Michigan. Bob’s Boxing Palace looks like every other place they have fought in before now.

Iggy and Izzy have “fought each other a million times before” (89). Izzy wants to win because if Iggy beats her she will have to stop boxing. She hates Iggy and resents her for copying her. However, “Iggy idolizes Izzy” and wishes they could be closer (89).
