Part 3: Chapters 16-26 Summary
After the second day of school, Jessica Campbell comes to Valerie's house to ask her to help the Student Council plan for and execute a memorial for the shooting. Valerie refuses out of fear that the other members of the Student Council will not want her there.
Valerie's mother expresses concern to Dr. Hieler that Valerie might hurt the members of the Student Council when she learns that she plans on attending a meeting for the memorial.
Valerie remembers discussing the Student Council elections last year with Nick in the days before the shooting as she walks into the Student Council meeting. Valerie is largely quiet as the Student Council discusses ideas for a memorial. Valerie suggests a time capsule and memorial bench with the victims' names on it.
