Nicholas was having a great day until he caught Paige in the hospital. Now Nicholas is in a bad mood. Nicholas' only bright spot now is the idea that Paige will never guess where Max is. Nicholas grabs his jacket, recalling that Saget told him that if Alistair decided not to come back, the job would be Nicholas' permanently. Everything was going perfectly in Nicholas' life. Nicholas would not let Paige ruin it.

Nicholas lets himself into his parents' house and hears Max's laughter from the nursery upstairs. Nicholas crawls into the room to surprise his son and finds the surprise is on him.
