Part 3, Delivery, Fall 1993, Chapter 33, Paige Summary
After driving straight from North Carolina to Massachusetts, Paige has to sleep on the front lawn, since Nicholas has shut her out of their house. Paige stares at the door, waiting for it to open, smiling and waving at the neighbors like her behavior is perfectly normal. The day before, Paige saw Nicholas leave and assumed he was going to hospital, and she then let herself into the house. The house was a mess, but Paige did not clean it up because she did not want Nicholas to know she had been inside. Paige took a shower and changed her clothes before leaving the house again.
Paige drove to the hospital later that day and asked the lady at the information desk where the day care center was, hoping to see Max without Nicholas knowing...
