Part 2, Growth, Summer 1993, Chapter 29, Paige Summary
Paige has become a stable hand in her mother's barn, helping Josh take care of the horses. Paige finishes in one of the horse's stalls and has forgotten to lock the gate. The horse gets out, and Paige must help Josh catch her. When they take a break a little later, Josh tells Paige how her mother got Donegal. May had been working for a Kentucky millionaire. When the man became ill, his wife left him, but May stayed and took care of him. As a reward for her loyalty, the man gave her Donegal, the sire of a bloodline that dated back to Seattle Slew.
