Part 2, Growth, Summer 1993, Chapter 21, Paige Summary
Patrick gives Paige some of her mother's clothes, which he had saved all these years. After changing, Paige finds her father in the kitchen with a wedding photo of him and May. Paige asks about her mother's other things, but May took all her important papers with her. Paige then asks about their marriage and Patrick says that he thought they were very happy and had no clue that May was going to leave. Paige asks why he never went looking for her mother. Patrick tells her a story of how when he was a child his father would cut the fields for haying, moving in tighter and tighter circles until there was one large patch left in the center.
