Part 1, Conception 1985-1993, Chapter 13, Paige Summary

Paige goes into labor in the middle of the night while a class four hurricane is brewing outside. Paige wakes Nicholas when her water breaks, but he tells her to go back to bed because it is a month early. Paige begins having contractions, one right after the other and finally convinces Nicholas to take her to the hospital. While Nicholas argues with the charge nurse about the room Paige is put in, Paige fights the urge to push. Once in the room, the labor nurse checks Paige, declares her ready to push, then leaves to find the doctor. Nicholas tries to console Paige, but she tells him not to touch her.
