Part 1, Conception 1985-1993, Chapter 8, Paige Summary

Paige remembers back to the first time she fell in love. Paige's first love is a girl named Pricilla Divine. Pricilla moves to Chicago from Texas when Paige is in sixth grade and chooses Paige to be her best friend. The two girls do everything they are not supposed to do together. They walk through the bad side of town, stuff their bras, and cheat on their algebra tests.

One afternoon Pricilla asks Paige if she has ever kissed a boy. Paige lies and says she has, but Pricilla catches her in the lie when Pricilla kisses her. The two girls practice kissing quite often. One day, Pricilla makes Paige hide in Pricilla's brother's closet with her. The two girls watch from the closet as Pricilla's brother has sex with his girlfriend.
