Chapters 16 through 20 Summary
Mark tells Abbey that he wants to buy a yacht. He tells her he can get the money for it and it prompts an argument over finances. Abbey later looks up the newspaper accounts of the deaths of Hennessy and Kunstler. She wonders why Kunstler would have jumped and immediately follows that thought by wondering if he really did jump. Abbey goes to Elaine's house and finds the house empty. As she's leaving, she's followed again. The car flashes its lights and Abbey finally stops at a busy store, planning to confront the driver. She discovers it's Katzka. They have coffee together and she tells him about the other two members of the transplant team who had died. Katzka reveals that Elaine had discovered a great deal of money - several million dollars - and Abbey says she can't imagine where...
