Chapters 6 through 10 Summary
Vivian encourages Abbey to remain strong, but Abbey can feel the looks of the other members of the hospital staff and knows that they probably all know about her actions regarding the heart. Abbey arrives in Mary Allen's room and Mrs. Allen tells her that the pain is severe. Abbey promises to increase the pain medication. Outside the room, the nurse asks Abbey what the maximum dosage of morphine should be and Abbey says that Mrs. Allen should get as much as it takes to help her sleep. As Abbey is about to leave the hall, the nurse says that she and the other nurses believe Abbey's actions, in helping to save Josh, had been the right thing to do.
