Summary
In Part II, Chapter 3, Carney met with Harvey Moskowitz. Moskowitz was his jewelry contact. It was late. Carney was back on his dorvay schedule. He had first learned about dorvay from his former professor. Dorvay was a "wakeful interval," also known as "the watch" (135). When following dorvay, the individual slept a few hours, woke up and went about their business in the middle of the night, and then returned to sleep. The schedule allowed Carney to take care of illicit activities during the secret hours.
Carney's "briefcase was heavier than usual," filled mostly with loot from Chink (139). When Carney first met Moskowitz, Moskowitz taught him what he needed to know about jewelry. They had a good relationship, and Moskowitz was honest. He and Marskowitz "did a deal for the stones" (143). Afterwards, Carney window shopped for a camera. He would need one...
