Summary

The next Friday, Holly encouraged Haley to tell her story to the group. Haley was nervous as she pressed the button on the recorder, but tried to remind herself that these were her friends. As she was about to begin, Esteban said he had another poem from his father. He read it first in Spanish and then in English. The poem was about the detention center and how when the guards called for lights out, all the men answer back in their many languages, creating a beautiful song. Everyone loved the poem.
