Summary
During the next prison visit, Haley's dad came to see her right away. He apologized for having a bad day the time before. Haley thought he should have known better because they drove seven hours to get there, but she kept quiet. She was grateful that both he and her uncle were alive. She wonders about what could have happened if both had. She hugged him hard and glanced at the number on his prison uniform. She did not know the number and did not want to remember it, along with other memories of how he got it in the first place. As they drove home later in the day, Haley asked her uncle to tell her about her mother. He said that her mom and dad had met in college and were truly in love. Her dad had never mentioned to him...
