Summary
Penelope sat in her neighborhood bar in Pittsburgh alone, drinking gin. The bar was below street level, dark and shaped like a ship. She came to this bar often, sometimes keeping the bar tender company and having sex with him at the end of the night. She had come to celebrate her father’s 63rd birthday, glad he was still alive. She wanted to drink alone but was approached by a younger man who offered to buy her a drink. She was going to tell him to go away however noticed he was wearing a pin similar to her alma mater’s. They drink together and she found out he was a ceramicist. She took him back to her apartment and showed him some of her drawings. They had sex and once he was asleep, she looked through his wallet, finding out...
