Catherine “Cat” Crawfield is a twenty-two year-old young woman who is a college student. She lives with her mother and maternal grandparents. On weekends she hangs out at local pick-up bars where vampires are known to frequent. She lures these undead beings with her charm and sexual appeal. She leaves with them and when they get her alone to bite her and drink her blood; she explodes into anger and kills them with her silver stakes.

Cat is a vampire hunter for several very personal reasons. Her mother was sixteen when she was raped by a vampire. Cat was born five months later and is half-human and half-vampire.
