Summary
In Chapter Eight, Loup and Vincent talk about their age gap and Loup calls her beautiful. He dismisses Cillian’s text and Vincent admits they are separated. She thought she would be depressed on her own in Paris, but she is happy and thriving. Loup shows her where his sister, Lisette, works, and Vincent remembers how young he is. She asks to hear about the bet, and he agrees if she will tell him about Cillian. She asks if he wants to kiss her, and he calls her his only desire in French before leaving.
Next is an excerpt from Cillian’s book as Cian starts a high school literary journal FOCAL. Since Shalene never responded, Cian thinks about what would happen if he returned to Dublin to meet his potential child. Eventually, he meets Emma Sharp during a party he throws...
