VI Poland 1992 Summary
As Chip and Sid make their way to Hiero's home, Sid thinks about his old friends. He recalls how Ernst was shot and killed in the eye during the war. He also thinks about how one of Paul's old rivals was responsible for Paul's death in the streets of Berlin. Fritz ended up hiding out form the Gestapo in a brothel, but died of starvation when wandering in the woods. Delilah said goodbye to Sid in New York Harbor and returned to Canada. She married and then died two years later of blood cancer.
When they finally reach Hiero's house, they find Hiero, ravaged by age, sitting in a chair in his living room. The white milky film on his eyes reveal Hiero is blind. Chip and Hiero greet one another and then Chip admits he has Sid with him. Hiero...
