II Berlin 1992 Pages 42-52 Summary
Sid watches as his own interview shows on the screen. Then Sid watches as Chip reveals that Sid committed a crime he's never paid for by allowing the Nazis to haul Hiero away as if Sid didn't even know Hiero. Sid rushes out of the theater, angry that one of his oldest friends has betrayed him. Sid feels as if everyone is staring at him as he leaves, even though the documentary film is still playing.
Sid thinks back when he first met Chip, when they were ten. Chip was a liar from that first day. Chip took Sid to his Tante Cecile's house, tricking the senile woman into thinking they were her son so she would give them candy.
Sid walks for a long time until he winds up ordering some food in a café. Chip...
