Summary
In Chapter 10, Tomás’ recollections continue. He soon decided that he no longer wanted to act as a spy for Isabel and the Montoneros, and he told this decision to Isabel. Isabel generally fell out of touch with Tomás after that. One day, a few weeks later, Tomás received a phone call from Isabel in the middle of the night. She sounded urgent, and she asked Tomás to come to her apartment. There, he found Isabel and an injured man. The man was named Gustavo, and he was a member of the Montoneros. Tomás helped Isabel treat the man’s injury, although Tomás quickly grew jealous of Gustavo, as it seemed evident that Gustavo and Isabel were romantically entangled.
