Summary

In Chapter 6, Tomás recalls the summer of 1975. Tomás was in college. He and Isabel were each dating other people. Isabel had not wanted to continue her sexual, semi-romantic relationship with Tomás. Tomás lived in La Plata, and Isabel lived in Buenos Aires. Tomás still had romantic feelings for Isabel that he could not quite shed. Shifting back to the 1986 storyline, the Colonel’s ghost leads Tomás to an apartment where the Colonel used to live. They briefly reminisce about the mid-1970s, and Tomás feels a visceral sense, almost like he is back in that time.
