Two-Headed Alligator

The two-headed alligator is a symbol of corrupted innocence. The baby alligator is discovered alone by the creek. Because it is a mutant because of the pollution from the dump, people treat it like a spectacle and tie it to a tree, and then eventually Pastor Rex shoots it, which suggests that anything atypical in American society will be destroyed for no good reason at all.
