Summary
The morning after running into Rafi in Venice, Deen receives a panic-stricken email from Piya imploring him to call her as soon as he can. Piya explains that she is in a crisis concerning the pod of dolphins that she has been documenting. Two weeks prior, Piya had received an anonymous message written in the style of a news report, outlining a mass beaching of Irrawaddy dolphins. She checks the date of the supposed beaching and realizes that it is destined to happen a week later.
Piya arranges for a journalist to meet her at the site of the predicted beaching and they are able to record the event in real-time. The story appears in the following day’s paper and Piya is contacted by an environmental lawyer who is filing a case in the Supreme Court in New Delhi against the refinery...
