Page 101-153 Summary
Lady Sybil Ramkin introduces Captain Vimes to the swamp dragons that she breeds. They are considerably smaller than the noble dragons and have a tendency to blow up when they try to flame. Vimes shows her the dragon footprint he managed to get from the Shades. She tells him that it looks as if it is in fact from a large dragon but must have been taken from a museum; it is impossible that it is recent because the dragons have been gone for generations.
Meanwhile Carrot arrives at the library with the librarian who is trying to convey the fact that the book that was stolen has the ability to be a very dangerous. He plays a charades game with Carrot. Finally Carrot understands that the name of the book was "The Summoning of Dragons." While this is in progress...
