Summary
Alberta is now at the Blossom Lodge having coffee. She sees Dr. Hovaugh and Babo in the restaurant and thinks about how few Black people there are in Alberta. She concludes they must be tourists and walks outside to her car, only to find it missing. She goes to the police station to report the theft. An officer named Connie drives her back to the lodge. They have a conversation about men and their careers, and then go to Dead Dog Café for lunch.
After Alberta’s father, Amos, was arrested for the border patrol incident, a reporter made the story infamous in the region. Although the family was not directly involved, it became a political movement, where politicians voiced dissent over the Canadian government’s abuse of First Nations people.
