Summary

Chapter 26 - Mattie and the others go to speak with Jeff at a local hotel. He tells them how he moved the hard drives from the computer, and that he believes the office has been bugged, which is why he wanted to meet at the hotel. Samantha is uncomfortable and wants to leave, especially when Jeff starts to talk about the documents. Jeff wants Mattie and the others to start taking over the cases that Donovan was working on. Mattie knows they can take some of them, but certainly not the bigger ones that Donovan was involved with, such as the ones with Krull and Casper Slate.

Sam leaves, and she’s followed by a thug that she names Bozo. He warns her not to work with Jeff, and that she should just stay in the legal aid office. Jeff approaches her shortly...
