Chapter 5-8 Summary
In chapter five Michael and Harry are stepping through the rip Harry has created into the Nevernever. The part of Nevernever that they have entered looks like Chicago at the end of Agatha Hagglethorn's life in the nineteenth century. Agatha accidentally killed her child, then killed her abusive husband and then chopped off her own hand. The ghost of Agatha is angry and suddenly has decided all children are hers to lull into an everlasting sleep. Ghosts aren't the people. It's a residual leftover image of the person the way they were when they died. The spirits disappear when their motives are completed or when they are destroyed.
Agatha Hagglethorn appears before them and the fight is soon on with Agatha screaming that the children are hers. Harry hears his Godmother's hounds and knows that she has found him in the...
