Chapters Thirty-three — Thirty-six Summary
In Chapter Thirty-three, Ismae is to spend the day sewing with the duchess and her crew as Duval goes again with the men to hunt. Madame Dinan tries to encourage Anne not to spend time with Ismae, but Anne will not listen to her. They talk of the coming Advent festivities, then Madam Dinan brings up d'Albret. Anne tells her again that she will not agree to a meeting with him nor will she marry him. Madam Dinan leaves the room and Anne indicates that Ismae should follow her. Ismae follows Dinan to a room where she speaks to d'Albret. She learns that Dinan is campaigning for the marriage between her half brother and Anne. Rieux also is in support of the union, Ismae learns. As she is returning to Anne, Ismae meets Sybella in the halls...
