Chaps. 31-33 Summary
Chap. 31. Katsa and Bitterblue are hiding behind thick trees by an inn in Sunder, in a heavily wooded region. Katsa steals a few eggs, and she and Bitterblue have a nice meal and then head towards a man on the contact list of the Council and on Katsa's map. Katsa and Bitterblue knock at the door of this man, a well-to-do shopkeeper, and he quickly recognizes her as Lady Katsa of the Middluns. Katsa and Bitterblue get food and new clothes and a chance to take a bath, but they have to leave before dawn so as not to be seen by all the shopkeeper's children. Katsa finds out that there is no news here from Monsea and that they are safe from the mental poisoning and lies that radiate from King Leck. Katsa tells the shopkeeper the story of their...
